Representation of a paratrooper landing near the church of Sainte-Mère-Église, a historic place in Normandy.

Utah saint mother church (76km from Crépon)

Sainte-Mère church was the first French city released by the parachuting of American troops on June 5, 1944. Everyone has in memory the image of the paratrooper that remained hung on the bell tower of the Church of Sainte-Mère, during the parachuting of the 82nd and the 101st Airbone, on the night of June 5 to 6, 1944.

In front of the town hall of Sainte-Mère-Eglise, there is today Borne 0, a symbol of the starting point of the Liberty Way, a road followed by the units of General Patton, from Sainte-Mère-Eglise in Bastogne (Belgium).
This famous church erected between the 11th and 15th century, shelters curious capitals, the stained glass of the landing and the stained glass of the parachutists.
