Cliffs of Étretat in Normandy, with the famous needle and the arch overlooking the sea.

The cliffs of Étretat (144km from Crepon)

Photos of the needle-like rock formation protruding from the cliff have traveled the world. This unique feature is the pride of Étretat, which also holds a number of other curiosities and treasures that contribute to the reputation of this seaside resort on the Côte de Caux. So much so that many artists were captivated by Étretat. Courbet, Boudin, Monet, and Matisse came to capture on canvas the ever-changing colors of the sky, sand, and sea. Offenbach composed several operettas there, and Maupassant had "La Guillette" built in the area.
