Bayeux tapestry
Known worldwide, Bayeux tapestry is a unique masterpiece. An 11th century art work 70 m on 0.50 m of linen canvas embroidered with colors, exposing in 58 scenes the reasons and the circumstances of the expedition of Guillaume the Conqueror, Duke of Normandy and his army in 1066. This superb work would have been commanded by Odon, half-brother of Guillaume and bishop of Bayeux, to an Anglo-Saxon workshop of his cathedral.
Notre-Dame Cathedral
An exceptional site that has been the subject of numerous embellishments and modifications between the 13th and 15th century. It dominates the city center of Bayeux whose heritage is exceptional. Visit every day in the cathedral season.
Lace conservatory
The purpose of this workshop is to safeguard the know -how transmitted by the Dentellières de Bayeux since the 17th century. The lace conservatory continues to teach the techniques of lace at the spinders. Exhibition, animation, sale. Free visit.

Château de Colombières
The château de Colombières dates from the end of the 14th. Originally, it was one of these many fortresses erected around the 10th and 11th centuries in order to resist English invasions. Over the centuries, this castle built on the edge of marshes and surrounded by a moat still in water, has undergone the erosion of time as well as architectural modifications. From generation to generation, successive owners have provided all their care to castle. The count and the countess Etienne de Maupéou are happy to receive you in this family home planted in an enchanting landscape, conducive to dreams.
Abbey Saint-Martin de Juaye-Mondaye
Founded in 1202, the Saint-Martin de Mondaye abbey is located in the Norman countryside in calm and silence. This place of silence and serenity belongs to the order of pre -assembled. In remarkable buildings of great sobriety reconstructed in the 18th century, canons devote themselves to prayer and the service of the church.
Château de Balleroy
He was one of the first works of François Mansart. This elegant site is nestled in greenery, near a large forest of oaks and beech trees, rich in game. The French garden, designed by André Le Nôtre, is a real boxwood embroidery. The outbuildings are placed symmetrically on both sides. In one two is the International Balloons Museum, created in 1975 by Malcolm S. Forbes. On the other side of the castle, a large partially wooded park opens the space towards the surrounding nature, once allowing the departure of the hunts
